About the Journal

Mizo Journal: International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is an open access, editorially reviewed academic journal dedicated to fostering multidisciplinary research and scholarship among Mizo scholars and the global academic community. The journal aims to amplify Indigenous perspectives, encourage knowledge exchange, and promote academic writing in both local and international contexts.

Aims and Scope

Mizo Journal aims to:

  • Provide a high-quality platform for original and review articles across multiple disciplines.

  • Support and showcase research by Mizo academics, researchers, postgraduate students, and emerging scholars.

  • Promote culturally grounded and socially relevant research.

  • Encourage interdisciplinary work that bridges local Mizo issues and global academic conversations.

The journal welcomes submissions in the following areas:

  • Social Sciences: Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Development Studies

  • Humanities: History, Literature, Linguistics, Philosophy, Cultural Studies

  • Science & Technology: Environmental Science, Public Health, Agriculture, Information Technology

  • Education & Law: Indigenous education, legal pluralism, education policy

  • Interdisciplinary & Applied Research: Gender studies, community development, Indigenous governance

Focus and Objectives

  • Empower Mizo researchers by offering a platform that values community-based knowledge and multilingual scholarship.

  • Encourage reflective and applied research that addresses real-world challenges in Mizoram and beyond.

  • Build academic visibility for research originating from the Northeast region of India and the global Mizo diaspora.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across disciplines and institutions through regular publication and public access.

Open Access Policy

Mizo Journal is fully open access.

  • All content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution.

  • Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles.

  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.

  • There are currently no article processing charges (APCs), making publication accessible to all scholars

Publishing Ethics and Policies

Mizo Journal follows standard academic publishing ethics and best practices:

  • Originality: All submissions must be original works that have not been published elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism: Articles are checked using plagiarism detection tools. Submissions with significant overlap will be rejected.

  • Authorship: Only individuals who have made substantial contributions should be listed as authors.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts, financial or otherwise.

  • Corrections and Retractions: If errors are discovered post-publication, corrections or retractions will be issued promptly.

  • Data Sharing: Authors are encouraged to share data or supplementary materials to support transparency.

Review Policy

Mizo Journal is a reviewed but non-peer-reviewed academic journal.

  • Editorial Review: All submissions are reviewed by the editorial board or designated subject editors for relevance, clarity, academic value, and compliance with journal policies.

  • No anonymous peer review: The journal does not conduct external blind peer review.

  • Decision Process: Based on the editorial evaluation, submissions may be accepted, returned for revision, or declined.

  • Timeliness: Authors are usually notified of a decision within 4–6 weeks of submission.

  • Transparency: Editorial decisions are guided by academic merit, relevance to the journal’s focus, and contribution to scholarly dialogue.
